Director of Daycare
Director of Daycare Summary:
The Director of Childcare will direct all activities of preschool, Childcare center, or other child development facility to provide instruction and care for children by performing the following duties. This position will report to the Regional Vice President.
Essential Functions of the Director of Daycare:
•Prepares and submit facility budget to Executive Team of BGTM for approval and communicates with the Regional Vice President on a monthly
basis as it relates to changes in revenues and expenses.
•Authorizes the purchase of instructional materials and teaching aids such as books, toys, and games designed to stimulate learning.
•Interviews and recommends hiring of teaching and service staff.
•Confers with parents regarding facility activities, policies, and enrollment procedures.
•Confers with teaching staff regarding child's behavioral or learning problems, and and encouraging learning experiences.
•Reviews and evaluates facility activities to ensure conformance to state and local regulations and BGTM expectations.
•Reviews and approves menu plans and food purchases.
•Arranges medical attention for ill or injured child in accordance with parental instructions.
•Performs classroom teaching duties during absence of regular teacher.
•Complete all other duties as assigned for the betterment of BGTM.
•Provide regular reports to the Executive Team on the operation and outcomes of the center.
•Will be responsible for the supervision of all childcare staff assigned to the center.
•Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures
•Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Director of Daycare Education and Experience:
•State requirements for director of licensed daycare of 21-60 children.
•Sixty (60) college semester hours.
•Twelve (12) of the hours must be in child related courses; or twenty-four (24) months' experience and twelve (12) college semester hours in child related courses.
•Class E license required.
